Rebranding as part of Pacific Canbriam Energy’s integration with Woodfibre LNG to export natural gas to growing Asian markets.
CALGARY, AB — Following the acquisition of Canbriam Energy Inc. by Pacific Oil & Gas Limited (PO&G) earlier this year, the company announced it will rebrand its operations to become Pacific Canbriam Energy Limited.
“The Pacific Canbriam Energy name reflects new ownership and a new purpose,” said Ratnesh Bedi, President of PO&G. “Integrated with Woodfibre LNG in British Columbia, Pacific Canbriam will supply responsibly produced natural gas for export to Asian markets. Combined with Pacific Canbriam’s industry-leading water-recycling system and commitment to sustainable natural gas production, the integrated project will support growing markets, combat climate change and improve human health.”
Pacific Canbriam Energy is strategically positioned in northeast British Columbia to supply clean Canadian natural gas to overseas markets. This will be achieved through integration with the proposed Woodfibre LNG project located near Squamish, British Columbia. An industrial-zoned, deepwater site, Woodfibre was the first Canadian LNG project to commit to electrification. By using renewable hydroelectricity, Woodfibre will cut emissions by 80 per cent and become the cleanest LNG export facility in the world.
“Asian markets represent a tremendous opportunity for Canadian natural gas,” said Paul Myers, President of Pacific Canbriam Energy. “Pacific Canbriam produces some of the most responsible and sustainable natural gas in the world. Our new name and integration with Woodfibre LNG puts Pacific Canbriam in a position to make a global impact – sharing our resource to support climate change mitigation and build prosperity in growing markets.”
